About IBSA
Understand what drives you. Discover how you perform.
Where it began
A deep exploration of human performance.
The Inner Beast Super Animal (IBSA) assessment grew from a deep exploration of human performance, behavior, and personality. That exploration included widely used frameworks such as DISC and Myers-Briggs assessments, along with personality research and assessment studies conducted at Harvard. These bodies of work helped inform the questions we ask about how people think, respond, lead, connect, and perform.

More than research
Twenty years of coaching people to perform.
IBSA also draws on more than research. It reflects the teachings, observations, and practical experience of founder Kofi Nartey, who has spent more than 20 years coaching and training people in mindset, leadership, and performance. Across that work, one idea kept emerging: when people better understand their natural tendencies, they can make more intentional choices about how they show up.
The name
Intelligent Behavioral Science Assessments
Inner Beast Super Animal
IBSA originally stood for Intelligent Behavioral Science Assessments—a name that spoke to the research and behavioral insight behind the work. Over time, Inner Beast Super Animal came to capture its essence more fully: the powerful instincts, qualities, and patterns within each person, and the opportunity to recognize and put them to work.
How the assessment works
Your answers become a picture of you.
IBSA uses a series of specific, strategically designed questions to explore your preferences, instincts, and typical responses in different situations. Together, your answers help build a picture of how you tend to approach challenges, make decisions, interact with others, and express your strengths.
The assessment translates those patterns into your four top animals—a memorable way to reflect on the qualities and tendencies that show up most strongly in your profile. Your animals give you a starting point for understanding yourself: what comes naturally, how you may respond under pressure, and how your style can complement the people around you.
